THE Worst Vocal Impression EVER
The other night I was folding laundry in the guest bedroom while Chris was putting Jackson to bed. As usual, it was storytime before bedtime, so I wasn't paying much attention to what was going on in Jackson's bedroom. After a few minutes, I noticed that Chris's voice sounded funny. At first I didn't think much of it because Chris had been complaining about his sinuses - I just thought he was stuffy. But, as I listened closer, I began to suspect something else was going on. After listening for a minute or two, I thought I had it figured out: Chris was reading Sam's part from Green Eggs & Ham in the voice of Richard Nixon!
Fairly amused, I went into Jackson's room and laughingly asked Chris why he was reading the book like Richard Nixon. Chris responded, "I'm not" and had this look on his face as though he didn't know what I was talking about. Then, on the next beat, Chris said, "It's Sean Connery." So I did the only things one could do in this situation - had a good laugh, turned around and walked out of the room, and left Jackson with the mistaken understanding that Scottish people sound like Richard Nixon.
