Play-Doh

Chris REALLY wanted Jackson to have some Play-doh, "because it's fun and it smells good". Now you should understand why, most of the time, I worry more about Chris than I do Jackson.

Despite his daddy's weird Play-doh attachment, Jackson seemed to like it.Also, sorry for the lack of posts lately. I know you've all been waiting with bated breath. Chris has been monopolizing the home office every night doing some last minute preparations for his big annual fundraiser this week. The event is tomorrow and I think that everyone will be glad when it is over. Here's a pic of Jackson from sometime this week, rockin' some new pj's. He's showing everyone that he is in touch with both his masculine side and his feminine side, hence the dinosaur and bunny rabbit. Although, he probably was just pretending that the dinosaur was eating the rabbit, so it was probably just a display of gross, hyper-masculinity.

13 Months Later

Here he is in the igloo 13 months later...Looking through the mesh window of the igloo. He's saying, "I see you Mommy!" That has been his FAVORITE thing to say for the last couple of months. He says it even when I'm not hiding on him. Sometimes I wonder about this boy...

I don't know if it's because he's wearing jeans or what, but he looks like he's 16 years old in these photos to me....except that he's drooling, playing on swingsets, riding in toy cars, etc.

Connor Prairie

Connor Prairie is a living history museum place just north of Indianapolis. You know the kind of place - where the staff dresses up and talks like they are from the 1800s and show you how things were done in the 1800s, like candle making, blacksmithing, etc. Anyway, we had never been and decided to go on Saturday. It was nice because it was overcast in the morning and the place was nearly empty so there wasn't any crowd to contend with. I understand that in October, things can get busy there because they have lots of Fall activities. Anyway, we didn't do much of the museum stuff, mostly just the animals and play areas. Of course, Jackson loved the animals. It's funny what a difference a few months make. Last time we went to Knoxville, we went to that Exotic Zoo, remember? Jackson didn't care for the goats there which was a shock since they were the pygmy type and nearly his size. This time, he LOVED the goats though. I'm guessing it was because there were only two of them this time and not the swarming herd of tiny goats that we saw at the Knoxville place. Plus, he got to pet a baby chicken and, I mean, who wouldn't love petting a baby chicken?

Here chicky, chicky!"Goa"=GoatCooking some carrots on the wood-burning stove...Ummm, nothing like a lick of used plastic sweet corn to start your day right!
