Gingerbread House/Pile

We went to a neighbor's house for Jackson's (and my) first attempt at making a gingerbread house. Things started out well, but then Jackson and the kids (and I) didn't have enough patience to wait for the house to set-up before we decorated, so it was a bit of a mess in the end.
Let this be a warning to all others: gingerbread house making takes patience!
(although, all those people at the party that waited for their house to set-up didn't get to eat theirs - they looked too pretty. Our house was the best because we started to eat it once it fell!)

Sneaky Smiles and Hair

They both look like they are up to something here, but I don't think they were doing anything wrong.

Luke is eating 8oz at most feedings and, therefore, is growing like a weed. He has also lost a good bit of hair. It seems like he's just about done losing it, except for the part on the back of his head that will continue to get rubbed off by contact with the mattress and such.

On the other hand, we have been letting Jackson's hair grow out. I think I like it, but this length does result in some of his hair sticking up in the morning when he wakes up. I think it is a good time for some reader participation: Which hair-do do you like better on him: the buzz cut or this?

Jackson's Art Work

He was very proud to mail these pictures off to Grandma and Grandpa and to Maureen last week. (I guess Uncle Billy and Aunt Julie are S.O.L.) He's into tracing his hand ever since they did it at daycare to make turkeys. It's hard to tell in these pictures, but on every face that he draws, he HAS to draw eyebrows. The face is just not complete without them. And if you are drawing a face, you better put eyebrows on it too or he will INSIST that they are missing until you draw them on. But notice none of the pictures have ears. Weird. I'm gonna keep my eye on this kid.....

Rice Cereal

He was hungry. So, I fed him. Pediatrician guidelines? Hummppfff.

Jackson's Friday Night Dinner

Tip of the hat to my friend Joanne, who told me how she made this meal for her kids a few years ago. She then proceeded to catch quite a few eye-rolls from our co-workers. I think they said she had too much time on her hands. I told her I was with her on it and that I was the kind of person that would totally do this too. So now I have, and here's the photographic proof. I guess I have too much time on my hands too.

The only problem was, he was turned off by the blue mac-n-cheese. He wouldn't eat it. I can't say I blame him. It looks pretty gross. He did eat the octopus though...

More Floor Gym

Sorry about all the floor gym photos, but ya know, he's only 9 weeks old - he doesn't do much!

2 Months

Compared to Jackson at this age, Luke seems tiny. He measured in at 25 inches like Jackson, but only weighed in at 14lbs, 10oz. He's still in like the 97th percentile of boys his age, but he feels tiny. What I think is really going on is that I'm comparing Luke to Jackson, who was like Godzilla-baby or something, and it's just not fair.

Chris jinxed us by publicly writing about how well Luke was starting to sleep at night and, of course, he hasn't slept well ever since. I'm feeling some rice cereal in the very near future. We'll see....

Jackson's Xmas List to Santa

I helped Jackson write his Christmas list to Santa last night and then he put it in the mailbox this morning. The first half of this list was totally unprompted and I have no idea what he means for some of these things. Animal cards? What are animal cards? A lion? Anyway, the second half of the list (starting with "cars")is what came out of his mouth after asking him what kind of toys he wanted; afterall, #2 on his list ("toys") is pretty vague. And yes, he said "train on a train track". Apparently, just any old train would not be good enough - it needs to be on train track.
