Just Some Random Pictures

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. There just isn't really much going on around here these days. Here's some random photos to keep you coming back!

P.S. Good luck on your surgery, Jake. Jackson will be thinking about you tomorrow morning.

Poor Cookie Monster. He looks like a homicide victim, just lying there. Kids these days!

If This is How He Gets to Spend His 9 Month Birthday....He Can't Wait Until He Turns 1 Year Old!!!

For Jackson's 9 month birthday, we went to the Children's Museum for the first time. He was such a good boy for the whole day. I'm pretty sure that he had a blast! Of course, Mommy and Daddy had fun too! His two favorite parts were 1)watching the carousel go around and around and 2)crawling around the cushioned play area! Check out the photographic evidence of a good time!

Here he is at the winter wonderland slide. We didn't have time to go down it this time, but we are gonna hit it next time that's for sure!
Here we are at the Fireworks of Glass display.
Having a great time climbing over the ripples.
Coming down those stairs head-first was a bit more challenging than he initially thought!
More fun in the playarea!
Here's Daddy helping Jackson play in the river!
Practicing turning lights on and off. His favorite thing to do at home!
Making the clown light up by hitting the buttons.
He liked watching the carousel go around more than actually riding on it!

Spread 'Em Mister!

It looks more like he's holding the fridge up than the other way around.I can hear P.T. Barnum right now: "Come on folks, step right in! It's the show of the century! After marveling at the Bearded Lady, see Superbaby hold a refrigerator with one hand!"

This is a Photo of Jackson Crying Because Mommy and Daddy Were Yelling Too Loudly at the T.V. during the Colts Game

Boo Hoo! The Colts lost. :(
However, in the interest of keeping my marriage, I will refrain from posting a photo of Chris crying during the game too. :)
P.S. Notice the two other teeth? Now, he's got 4 on top and 4 on bottom. Plus, I think he's getting a molar on his left side. These teeth are coming fast and furious now.

A "Fictional" Story of Jackson's First Haircut

There once was a handsome boy named Jackson and he had a nice shiny head of brown hair. But his hair had grown so long that his Mommy was tired of moving the hair out of his eyes for him all the time.

So one day, Jackson's Mommy tried to trim his bangs while he was taking a bath. She thought this was a good idea since he seemed content at the time and was preoccupied slashing around. Jackson was none-the-wiser as his Mommy chopped away at his hair.

Things were going well until Jackson's hair started to dry. You see, his Mommy - who has no degree in cosmetology or any experience cutting hair - didn't take into account exactly how much hair shrinks when it dries. So, after Jackson got his pajamas on, she immediately noticed how much he looked like Jeff Daniels in "Dumb and Dumber".

And she was not pleased with herself.

So the next day, she brought Jackson to a professional cosmetologist and paid her a ridiculous sum of money to fix his Mommy's mistake and make Jackson a handsome boy again.
Jackson was a good boy while the professional worked her magic. He sat up straight, chewed on a well used set of plastic keys attached to the rhinoceros barber chair, and watched some Baby Einstein. Jackson was so good, he even got a balloon from the barber!

And when the haircut was finished, both Jackson's Mommy and Jackson's Daddy were pleased they had gotten their handsome little boy back! Of course, Jackson didn't even know he had gotten his haircut, so he was not pleased. But when he got home, his Mommy gave him some pickles and corn for dinner. And he was pleased too! THE END.

You Can't Stop Him. You Can Only Hope to Contain Him.

P.S. Can you see that bruise on the bridge of his nose? He took quite a nose dive onto his Elmo musical gym. Bad Elmo. I knew there was a reason I didn't like that terrible, awful, despicable, incomprehensible, red Muppet.

Drama King

Things have been very dramatic around here, what with visiting the grandparents this weekend and Venus' emergency bladder surgery. I guess that Jackson wanted to get into the drama mix too, so he decided to get another sinus and ear infection combo. Or, perhaps he never fully got rid of the first one from about 3 weeks ago. Either way, he was miserable on Sunday, Monday, and this morning. He appears to be feeling better this afternoon though. We'll see. So, we've got 2 sick babies -- one four-legged and the other two-legged -- to contend with at home.

For those keeping track, at his 8 1/2 month check-up on Monday, Jackson was 30" long and weighed 24lbs, 10oz.

Here are some pictures of the drama king in action....

Look What Jackson Did at Grandma and Grandpa's House!

He stood up by himself....He learned to drive a car....And, he learned to ride a motorcycle. I always said I wanted a motorcycle boy!

All I Want For Christmas Are My Two Front Teeth

Here's a photo of two of his top teeth. I highly doubt there will ever be a picture of the other two top teeth. Someone would have to be holding up his lip to be able to see them. I can't imagine he would like that very much. Plus, quite frankly, he's got lots more teeth to come, so this should be the last tooth-specific photo! (Unless I get desperate to find something to post about.) It's frightening how things like teething have become mundane so quickly...
