......and a mug shot. Just goes to show that kids try to make their parents look like fools from the get go. As soon as I say that I can't get him smiling, he proves me wrong. Here's some new smiling photos....and a mug shot of him about 2 seconds later which is included just to prove that I'm not crazy and I wasn't lying about it being hard to catch this little bugger in the act of smiling.
Up until now, Jackson has cooperated quite willingly with getting his photo taken. Apparently, though, he has now grown into a bit of camera shyness. He has been smiling more and more each day, but I can't ever seem to get a good photo of it...either he turns his head from the camera, he stops smiling when he sees the camera, or the photo turns out fuzzy when I do actually catch him in the act. Here are the best two that I have been able to come up with, but I am gonna keep trying. There must be something very funny about his changing table because he is always smiling when we put him on it these days.

I'm not sure what Dr. Spock would say about this parenting technique, but forget him, this video is the BEST invention in the world. Someday, Jackson can complain to his therapist(s) that all of his problems are my fault because I let him watch TV in his infancy....but that concern is for another day. Right now, I just love Mozart. Apparently Mozart was more than just a musical genius...he was also a child development expert. I don't think that Jackson blinked ONCE while watching this video.
This boy is growing so fast, it is only appropriate that he wear a giraffe outfit. At 6 weeks, he has outgrown his 0-3 month clothes. Is that supposed to happen in such a short time? I guess it is time to wash the 3-6 month clothes. Come to think of it, I might as well wash the 6 month clothes too...it will only be a matter of a few days before he will be in them anyway!
For those of you that do not know, Grandpa has a history of getting upset and throwing Kraft singles at young children -- including his own daughter. While his compulsion for this lay dormant for the past 20 years, apparently it cannot be contained any longer and he has resorted to even thowing this yummy food at small infants too. Here, Grandpa got Jackson with the first shot. Apparently, old age has not affected his throwing arm.
....why is this priest trying to drown Jackson!! Poor baby....the priest's first pour didn't quite rush over the TOP of Jackson's head like it was supposed to...it ran right down his face into his nose, mouth, and ears. Poor child seriously couldn't breathe! The drowning is a little hard to see in this video, but trust me, Jackson was fearing for his life...really...he was. Do you see how Chris has to wipe off Jackson's entire face!!
