Is 14 Months Too Early to Enroll Him in Soccer??

Scary to think that he's only 3 years away from organized sports though....

On Saturday

Jackson had some friends over for the NFL draft on Saturday. Here he is with Carter, who's sporting his new haircut. Unfortunately, the rest of Jackson's weekend has not been as fun for him as Saturday was. He was up all night coughing Saturday night. Then today, he's had a fever and been sick all day. He can't keep anything down. I sure hope he feels better tomorrow; he has just looked pretty pitiful today.

Summer PJs and Bedtime Stories

Jackson had a sleep-over at this Mammaw's house Saturday night so that Chris and I could go out with some friends this weekend. Woohoo! It's amazing that we still have friends willing to go out with us, given how lame our daily lives are now that we're parents. Of course, it helps that our friends are lame parents too.....

Manly Day

I think today was Jackson's first official day as a man.

He had his first fist-fight.

Apparently at morning snack, some bully tried to take his sippy cup away from him.

So Jackson refused and turned away and the other kid scratched him on the face (accidentally as he was reaching for the cup?).

So Jackson shrugged him off.

So the other kid BIT Jackson on the arm.

So Jackson cried.

So the other kid was removed from the scene by the daycare workers.

So Jackson won and savored that sippy cup 'til the last drop. Um, um, good.

Here's the only physical evidence of the fight....So when we got home, I let him do some other "manly" things the rest of the day. Like carry sticks around and dig in the dirt.....And walk around the house without any shirt on....

With all this unseasonably cold weather we've been having, I've been missing Spring. Spring, you might remember it....we saw the briefest hint of it a few weeks ago.....before it started snowing again. Anyway, that preview got me anxious for the start of Spring. I haven't looked at the weather forecasts for the week, but the nice weather today got me excited to think that we might actually be leaving old man Winter behind finally. So, in a leap of faith that Spring weather is upon us, I took Jackson for his "summer look" haircut today. I don't know if this is considered a full-buzz cut or not, but if it's not, it's pretty darn close. I like it. I think it looks good on him. Plus, I'm looking forward to not having to do the Mommy-spit-straightening-thing on Jackson's morning bedhead anymore.

And, yes, he's drooling THAT MUCH again. All 4 of his eye-teeth are coming in at once and they are really wreaking havoc for him. He's not been a happy camper about it. I can't wait for him to get a break from teething. He's generally a pleasant kid, even when he is teething, but it sure does making him noticeably more irritable.
