As You Can See, He Got All Dressed Up for His Grandparent's 40th Anniversary

The night-time boat ride was going to be a bit chilly and this outfit was the best Grandma could come up with because Jackson's Mommy didn't think to bring a jacket for the weekend. I think that's a size 3T kid in a size 3X jacket that now has the sleeves cut off of it. It did keep him warm; unfortunately, it also prevented him from moving and being able to put his arms down - much like Ralphie's little brother in A Christmas Story.

Pedaling the Bike

A few weeks ago, he finally mastered the art of pedaling. Now if he could only figure out how to steer whilst pedaling, he'd be in good shape just in time for our new giant driveway next month!

Learning to Poop Like a Man

With comic book reading material and everything!

Potty training has been stalled for a few weeks now. He'll pretty much pee on the potty every time you take him. Although, he has his days were he has absolutely ZERO interest in using the toilet - of course, those days tend to coincide with the days when he has zero interest in doing ANYTHING that he is asked. We are still having wet diapers most of the time and I'm thinking that the problem there is that he isn't eliminating his bladder completely when he does use the potty. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he is a serial pee-er: he doesn't hold it in and then let a bunch go at once, rather he just dibbles all the time. It does seem to slowly be getting better though and he's not having as much pee in his pull-up as time progress.

He has taken to pooping on the potty much more slowly however. And, I have no idea why, although I hear it is common. He obviously knows when he has to poop - he runs to the corner/other room to do it. And, if you ask him where he is supposed to poop, he'll give you a smile and say the correct answer: "in the potty, not in your pull up!" But, he's still reluctant to do it, for whatever reason. Some days it feels like he is slowly coming around a little, other days he acts like he's never done it before. The Chuck E. Cheese chart we have going was motivation for 3 poops in the potty, but it seems to have lost its appeal for him. I think I'm just going to have to wait this one out!

Strawberry Pickin' a Few Weeks Ago

The photos are a week or two old. You'll have to forgive me for their lateness. It's not like I'm doing anything important/stressful like "cookin' a baby" or trying to build a house or anything....
