"I'm A Plate!"
After dinner, Jackson unexpectedly picked up the take-out lid, held it to his face, and declared, "I'm a plate." It may not sound or look that funny now, but it was pretty funny at the time. Maybe you had to be there. I think he's learned a thing or two from his BFF, Don Rickles.

Happy Easter 2008!
Coloring eggs with Jackson is a messy task, Grandpa!
Egg dipper? Egg dipper? I don't need no stinkin' egg dipper!
That Easter Bunny sure left a messy trail.
Huning for eggs.
I guess we'll know by the smell of the house in a few days if he found them all.
Enjoying some of the loot.

This Blog Stinks.
There are hardly ever any updates...at least not as many as there used to be.
Who's running this show anyway? They should be fired.

2 Year Update
Here's what Jackson can/can't do, now that he's officially 2 years old:
- He talks in multiple (4-6) word sentences, pretty much about any topic, but his topic of choice is usually about animals.
- He's working on proper pronoun usage, but still often gets it wrong and often refers to himself as "Jackson".
- He will, completely unprompted, announce whether people are a "boy" or a "girl" and he gets it right most of the time. (He has only done this in private, so he hasn't put us in any embarrassing situations yet.)
- He is VERY MUCH into the "no's" right now. He will say "no" to just about anything, even if the answer is yes. If he happens to be in a good mood though, the "yeah's" will take over occasionally.
- He likes to color, mostly preferring to have you color with him.
- While he recognizes all of his letters, he can only sing most of the ABC song (he repeatedly forgets "e" and "n"). He can also sing most of the itsy bitsy spider, row row row your boat, patty cake, twinkle twinkle little star, and maybe a few others that I can't think of right now.
- He likes to play pretend, but is finiky about whether he will dress-up to play pretend.
- He's in the throws of toddler mood swings - crying one minute, laughing the next. It's almost like he's going through menopause.
- He's got all of his teeth, including his two-year molars.
- He's really resisting bed time and has mastered the art of stalling bedtime by requesting a book, milk, food, etc.
- He has his first chore: he helps us feed Venus the dog, and he loves to do it and gets mad if you do it without him.
- He'll eat just about any fruit, bread, and most meats, but still runs away from veggies (kinda like his Mommy).
- If you share your milkshake with Jackson, you'll never see it again. Trust me, it's a mistake you'll only make once.
- He is wearing diapers and has apparently lost whatever interest he previously had in using the potty.
- He wears 3T clothes and (mostly) size 8 shoes.
- He's basically resisting anything you want him to do - go to "school", come inside, go to bed, change his diaper, pick up his toys, take a bath, etc.
- He's put his "two cents" in and predicted that the baby in Mommy's belly is a boy.
- He's off the Zyrtec as an experiment to see if he really needs it or not. So far, so good (knock on wood).
- He can count to 15 in English and 10 in Spanish (except he forgets quattro frequently).
- He has varying tasts in music. He likes the Jackson 5, particularly "Rockin' Robin" or "tweet tweet" as he calls it. He also likes Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" and Johnny Cash/June Carter's "Jackson" (I can't imagine why?).
I don't think that any of this means anything more than he's a healthy, typical 2 year old.
