He's Standing Tall These Days....
Notice the giant wetspot on his shirt. LOTS of drool these days, what with the teething and the nasty congestion he just got. Any day now with these top teeth.....they just seem to be taking forever. He's handling the teeth and the cold like a champ though. However, the kids in daycare need to look out....he has apparently taken to grabbing their face, hair, hand, etc. and trying to bite them like he does everything else. Jackson is gonna get a reputation like that!

AAARGH, Me Mateys
All that's missing is an eye patch and a parrot on his shoulder.
Perhaps Jackson is trying to tell what he wants to be for Halloween?

Road Trip
What? You didn't know I could drive?
No, really, I can!
Okay, you caught me! I was just joking, Mommy.

Tennessee vs. Air Force
We spent this past weekend in Knoxville. On our way down, we stopped in boo-foo Kentucky (technically, it is called Monticello, but it really should be called Boo-Foo) to see Chris's Dad, O'Dale. While Chris will tell you until his dying breath that he is from TN, he was born there in Monticello, KY, where his Dad still lives. Lord knows why he still chooses to live there, but he does, so we make the trip to see him once or twice a year, whenever we head to Knoxville. Here's a picture of Jackson and Pappaw O'Dale from this weekend.
Then, on Saturday night, Chris and I went to the UT vs. USAF football game at Neyland Stadium. Chris's cousin Jennifer graciously agreed to babysit Jackson while we went to the game. She swore that Jackson was a good baby for her and she took a few pictures to prove it. Click HERE for her pics. It looks like they were having fun to me. Thanks for giving up your Saturday night Jennifer!
It was my first TN game and the first TN home game Chris had been to since 1992. Since Neyland holds over 100,000 people and every game is sold out, it is quite a different experience than the Illini games of several years back that I remember. Thankfully, TN won by 1 point so it was 100,000 HAPPY people leaving the stadium. i can't imgaine that 100,000 angry fans is as much of a good time. Although, TN losing would have been a fitting ending to a crazy Saturday. Let's just say that, for the first time in 29 years, I spent my birthday in the hospital. Gall bladder attack. Not fun. I don't even know what a gall bladder does, but when it attacks, it sucks. In my humble opinion, gall bladder now ranks as the worst internal organ one can have. I think you all should join me in my distaste for gall bladders. I mean, if it can turn on you in an instant the way mine did on me, who needs an interal organ like that? I'll take my kindey, liver, stomach, and even my colon any day of the week. They don't turn on you. They're very reliable organs. They show up and do their jobs, no questions asked. Ungrateful gall bladder. Why, without me, what would my gall bladder be? It would probably be an appendix in some Croatian or something. That's all that I've got to say about that.
